    another rejection letter. y'know, i'm starting to think getting work in cybersec isn't for me, maybe i should go all in on a trade or something. it's aggravating enough seeing how normal people approach tech, i can only imagine how it would be in a corporate setting.

    @Giganova8 when i plug in the hdmi, the monitor turns on for a second then automatically closes after saying no signal. that's before i try booting or anything, when i do that i get no output, mouse doesn't light up, nothing.

    all i smelled when i last booted was the smell of when motors go really fast, kinda like a burnt smell but i know that's not what it is. don't recall anything when it was turned off and i had my face in it, though.

    might as well post my PC's current ordeal.

    haven't been able to boot since the power surge a couple days ago. i've reconnected the cables and ram and gpu, replaced the cmos battery, and switched ram around (and tried with each one installed alone). all i get is the fans blaring at full power and the two red lights on the motherboard (cpu and dram, respectively). i think i may need either new ram, psu, or both plus some.

    lesson learned, power surges are no joke.

    still writing a fuller review, but to make a quick summary: Mahou Shoujo: Magical Destroyers Letter-Grade Recommendability: C Artistic-Entertainment Value: 3 stars Moral-Spiritual Value: +1 Age-appropriateness: Adults MPAA Rating: PG-13 I remember semi-jokingly calling this "the gamergate anime" when the first look came out, but now that it's over I genuinely believe that's a fitting description. It's a show with a strong anti-institutional theme, a alternate depiction of the edgy 2000s just before the investor-driven subversions of the current year and beyond. You get the impression that the creators are displeased with the increasingly profit-driven media of today and the vilification of the media and fans of yesterday. Despite these positives, however, there's just not enough talent to make this truly great, plot is sloppy and the animation is wildly inconsistent. Despite all of that, I did genuinely enjoy the themes and characters, and the opening and ending are worth checking out at the very least.
