I had two lumps of something flat come down off the roof in the storm we just had, I can’t see any missing slates or obvious gaps in the cement between the slates and the eves so I’m thinking they might have been from on top of that bit of flashing: all the rest of it on that and the working chimney is covered over.

Putting the stepladder to use, that timber that’s pretty much under the flashing around the capped chimney stack looks kinda wet, doesn’t it?

Is the potato truly a vegetable? The humble spud is in the eye of a storm in America over plans to uproot its classification.

Currently designated a “starchy vegetable”, the Dietary Guidelines for Americans Advisory Committee is considering moving the potato out of the vegetable box and into the same category as grains such as rice, wheat and oats.
