I've been hoping to garner some trust by showing him that not all electricity is bad but it is very powerful and if not handled correctly can hurt and even kill. I showed him a power tool in action last week so he could see electricity being used to cut wood and this week we pulled out the oscilliscope and played around. He noticed that if he was holding a probe and touched my arm he could see the shape of the line on the screen change which he thought was pretty cool. I also showed him the pwm signal on the leds and he watched me add a relay to the circuit so that the lights can be turned off completely. -

There was one little girl in my family that we could not teach to swim quickly enough. With her fascination with water, she should have been taught yesterday! Education is the best remedy, I would guess, but every electrician I know has been shocked at least once where they still feel it the next day.
Do you think letting him lick a 9v battery would be just encourage him? That was a tard game we played as children, but for only a very short amount of time.Disinformation Purveyor :verified_think: likes this. -

I have told him the chicken fence is electrified and he is doing good avoiding that, but if he ever hits it I'm sure he'll respect the electricity a bit more haha.
I think it's an understandable curiosity I'm just worried he might not appreciate the risk. I'm no electrician but I think spark plugs are pretty painful and don't let you forget. -

He also wants a workbench and a wheely chair lol -

For the first few months we had it I could never feel it but Jen was getting shocked left and right. It wasn't until I reached under the fence to grab something and I was making direct contact with the ground that it finally bit me. -
