    These days regulations ask people to have Catalytic Combustor filters on the exhaust of any wood burner.

    They don't cause any pollution after production, but it causes a lot for it's production.

    It is, in my opinion, much more sustainable to go for wood as long as catalytic combustor filters are installed and that the wood comes from a source that is, first planted back, and second planted back from seeds and not clone cuttings.

    Of course with the current amount of population it's impossible to have everyone to be on wood, thus there's a need of various source of heating, be it from electricity, to methane, to wood.
