@HebrideanHecate@thatguyoverthere That's stinks! We built fencing around everything this year to keep the hens out. Hopefully the 4 that were left will seed out for you and next year more cosmos will appear
Grrrr 🤬 sons of bitches!!!! Been growing this broccoli since February. Finally get a floret and these dirty rotten expletives freaking ruin it overnight.
@thatguyoverthere Are you west Virginia? For some reason I thought you were in Ohio Do you watch this guy at all? He's doing a series in Appalachia now. The first one he released was in West Virginia https://youtu.be/h9lSZlDJAC0
@Flick@thatguyoverthere I just cannot kill her in any fashion. I love her so much. Usually I get hubby to do the dirty work when I can't but this hen has been an absolute treasure to have on the farm and he can't do it either. I never thought I'd love a chicken as much as I do a dog or cat.
@thatguyoverthere I've heard that too. Never tried it though. Let me know if it works. I am ready to cull the whole flock, except my roo and start over woth the breeds of chickens I like. The roo and this broody are the only two I truly love.
@thatguyoverthere Yeah it is hard. I had an egg eater I had to cull earlier this year. Had her for 6 years., was this broodys first baby she raised for me. I tried for a year to break her from egg eating but not only did she not stop, she taught others to do it.
@thatguyoverthere She's struggling. We had a week of extreme rain that moved into extreme heat. During that transition in weather she stopped eating her chicken food and only ate treats. This week she stopped eating completely. I have been force feeding her some and admisterintering antibiotics but nothing seems to help. Today I found her on her back, legs in the air. She's breathing but she is weak.
