Remodeling my rooting window today. I'm hoping to get most of my cuttings into the hanging jars and overwinter some herbs on the windowsill.

Some plants are easier than others. I had a blueberry bush cutting that lived in water for 9 months, never rooted, then up and died overnight. If you get 1 out of 5, you're doing okay

They are nice to have, especially this time of year when it's time to start bring in plants. I normally keep a hanging bell for rooting flowers in this window but I moved it to a new spot so I can open up some space for a winter windowsill herb garden.

You'd probably have better luck on getting the scent you're looking for by steam distilling the essential oil from the petals. The EO will be the strongest scent and then put that into the carrier oil.

It stays liquid no matter the temperature. It is a thin oil, almost like water. It can be somewhat pricey compared to your standard carrier oil but it will last literally forever. Olive oil and grapeseed go rancid very quickly unless refrigerated

I am going to try to make soap for Christmas gifts this year. It's my first time. 🤞
The best oil to use for oil/scent extraction is fractionated coconut oil. There is no coconut scent, it stays in liquid form and it never goes rancid.
