To be fair, it is getting to the point where it's hard to come up with a use case for which tanks are the most cost-effective option.
-
@deprecated_ii @professionalbigot69
I dunno about that. The resources might be better spent elsewhere these days. It's starting to become a historic prestige thing.

I think this is just an attitude born of contrarianism. Cavalry went away, battleships went away, and there's no reason we should think 70 ton chobham battlebricks are immune to this possibility.

>Dear Ukrainians, I know things look bad right now but I just want you to know that we've been half assing it with the whole war support thing. Barely even, actually. More like a quarter ass at best. Anyway keep up the good fight or whatever so I can get updoots online.

Mushoku Tensei has a lot of serious problems from the viewer's perspective up to the soft penis arc, which already makes it difficult enough for a person with a reasonable but not excessive attention span to keep trusting the show with their time.
After the teleportation event, which is probably the worst contrivance in plot history short of "it was all a dream," Mushoku Tensei repeatedly meanders in a way that beggars belief. Almost none of the important characters seem to be bothering to navigate their way to their original locations before the teleportation, which should be the primary motivation of the entire world after it happens. Meanwhile, the audience is expected to tolerate low-level adventuring shenanigans and personal developments of individuals for an obscenely long time against the backdrop of this world-shattering event that everyone seems to be casually ignoring.
One after the other, who-gives-a-shit moments pile up with why-the-fuck-would-they-do-that decisions to the point of absurdity. Everyone has a breaking point, and "the adult isekai'd into a teenager's body has a soft penis now" is one of the more egregious opportunities to have one. It's laughable on its face. Not getting filtered by this point might be an indicator that you have too long of an attention span, or too high of a tolerance for insultingly dumb plot contrivances.

Off the top of my head, Gate and Youjo Senki suffer from none of the above problems. They are both able to have characters, small groups, and world-scale organizations respond plausibly to major world events in a timely manner. Their pacing is vastly superior.

Whatever your distaste may be with trains and the management thereof, I was asked to provide examples of isekai anime in which the major characters respond to critical world events in ways other than farting around in random adventurer towns doing fuck all with their literally limp dicks. I don't feel that my answers were inadequate.
-
@McMongoose @AWIVR @moth_ball
If I stand accused of preferring the formula where characters attempt to resolve conflicts as they arise in a sensible manner and a timely fashion, then I'm comfortable with that.
I do not feel that I will be missing out on the adventures of Rudeus' floppy weiner as he meanders from pointless town to pointless town, ignoring major plot events, not searching for his family, not reconnecting with his social network, and forcing a literal plot god to tell him to get off his ass and move things along.
-
@McMongoose @AWIVR @moth_ball
Rudeus was slick enough to manipulate his new mother into forgiving his cheating father for impregnating their maid, among other impressive feats of social savvy. For him to suddenly become too retarded to do anything other than low-level random fantasy fetch quests was a bizarre shift from the knowledgeable adult-in-a-child's-body character which had already been established for him before the teleportation event. After the teleportation, he spends way too much time sitting around doing nothing in the middle of nowhere when there are very important things going on that absolutely involve him, and there is just no good reason for him to be that way.
Mushoku Tensei had a strong start, and it was much more interesting when it wasn't The Non-Adventures of the Bum Who Sits in Random Unimportant Towns Doing Basically Nothing for Years at a Time. It's been more than long enough for a reasonable viewer's patience to run out. If you're not ready to bail after being subjected to the floppy weiner arc, the joke is on you and it's very strange that you're enjoying it.
