i'm not forgetful as such. it's more that i never remember stuff when i actually need it.

there are soft and hard programming languages

people who use hard ones scoff at people who use soft ones

people who use soft ones are probably more fun to hang out with though 😜

@mian there are a lot of fine distinctions when it comes to type systems. it's more of a spectrum than a binary. but you can do web development - both frontend and backend - just fine in a language with a flexible type system.

types who like to make decisions quickly and early might lean toward more rigid typing while people who like to leave options open might prefer a more flexible one.

@thatguyoverthere i have a tendency to use writing to help me crystallise and summarise my thoughts. they have a tendency to evaporate if i don't write them down immediately.

who has time for chores when there's just so much to think and talk about all the time

one thing i hate about being a techie is that most people don't really need your help. the skill is mostly useful to businesses.

it would be much easier if my old job was actually something useful to people like a plumber or a doctor.

all i can do with my skill set is make corporate wallets fatter. techies are often a tool of the system.

it's funny just how sensitive people are to the WAY you say stuff.
