in English, can you say that a person who is taking all responsibility and apologising for everything is "laying himself flat"? we say that in Norwegian.

@Flick "legge seg flat" (laying oneself flat) is *often* about truth, but most of the time, it's more of a public display of apology. no need to swear an oath.

@coin @alex i've been on the other side of this. i worked as a dev for 15 years. some of the tickets i had in my issue tracker simply never got fixed. there's always a more important ticket to handle.

@coin @alex oh, you know, this might be one reason i rarely feel keen on submitting an issue ticket: it usually never gets fixed. i do the work and it gets ignored most of the time.

why is it always that noise comes from above when you live in a condo? who ever knocked the floor with a broom to make the neighbours quieten down?

thinking about it, i guess it is because the main type of noise that carries through a building is vibration from direct contact, and things rarely touch the ceiling, but often touch the floor

so, the top floor is the best floor to live on if you want to avoid noise, but the bottom floor is the best one if you wanna make noise without bothering others
