@mntmn voiding waranty if you repair yourself is not allowed in many european countries. E.g.: in belgium the burden of proof that it's the user that broke it/caused the issue is on the one providing the warranty for the whole two years. Therefore if the user repaired something themselves and then something else broke and he sends it in for a warranty repair, you have to repair it unless you can prove that the user broke it.
@mntmn What about Rockchip RK3566 as a cheaper upgrade/option? pine64 uses them. edit: RK3568 exists as well with some better I/O but I don't know if it's used by any compute/sbc manufacturer.
