@mntmn to be clear: the way I'm reading point 5 is that if I purchase an MNT product and it breaks within a year I have to pay shipping to get it fixed... which at the very least seems not very fair, even if I am wrong about free shipping on warranty repairs being a legal requirement in the EU
@mntmn doesn't consumer protection law require free return shipping on faulty goods within warranty period? (it does in the UK at least, and I thought that was the case in the EU too)
@mntmn The "repair it yourself and lose the warranty" while fair, I think needs clarification. What happens if someone takes the device to a 3rd party, but certified/professional repair place? This especially in connection with the last point. I guess that shop (for repairs in the US) is only for out-of-warranty, or lose-your-warranty repair?
@mntmn voiding waranty if you repair yourself is not allowed in many european countries. E.g.: in belgium the burden of proof that it's the user that broke it/caused the issue is on the one providing the warranty for the whole two years. Therefore if the user repaired something themselves and then something else broke and he sends it in for a warranty repair, you have to repair it unless you can prove that the user broke it.
