   RK3588 is also in the pipeline for MNT Reform. Originally I wanted to go with Radxa CM5 but I haven't heard from them again since some initial emails. I have a similar SOM from T-Firefly but it will need a custom adapter, which I have to start designing soon.

   One caveat: Valhall GPUs such as the one in RK3588 need binary firmware for the embedded ARM in the GPU.

     @mntmn What about Rockchip RK3566 as a cheaper upgrade/option? pine64 uses them.
     edit: RK3568 exists as well with some better I/O but I don't know if it's used by any compute/sbc manufacturer.

     @DenJohn i don't think a55 is worth the incremental improvement vs a53. and on imx8mplus we are already at 14nm. we need more a7x and better performing chips.
