Unlike TV it's easier to block ads online and they have to be shorter on average, so it means they have to try harder to garner attention.

And yes ppl are more antagonist towards ads recently and that plays into that.

My friend has a theory that Progressive ruined an entire generation of commercials cuz they were the first to start making these dumb skit commercials that had almsot nothing to do with what they were selling.

Is it lame to have nostalgia for old commercials?

My friend likes to watch compilations of old commercials from the 80's-2000's and I can kinda understand the fond memories or the more memorable commercials but I can't imagine enjoying them enough to watch a bunch of em.

Where commercials actually better back in the day or are all advertising bad?

@coolboymew@shitposter.club I cant speak for recent anime but I tend to prefer seinens.

However a lot of these demographics aren't COMPLETELY indicative of the type of content (i.e comedy, violence, tone etc) and are just a label based on publisher.

That's why Tonari no seki-kun is a seinen, Black Butler is a shounen, and Cowboy Bebop is a shoujo

Lots of good seinens. Some are just shounen that get to push the age barrier (and usually have slightly better writing for it)

The beauty standards and culture of that shit is worse there than it is in the U.S. It is seen as completely normal to give ur kids that as a gift.

Most of the niggas I know that bother to get a desktop is for gaming and to larp as a twitch streamer.

Otherwise everyone I know can go days without ever touching their laptop cuz most shit u can do on your phone.

@coolboymew@shitposter.club I was talking about the Sims with a younger coworker and complained how Sims 4 has loading screens when Sims 3 was open world.

She was surprised cuz she said it had loading screens. I asked if she got the right version on her computer and she said she doesn't have one and had always played on her ipad or game console.
