@TrevorGoodchild @jb Also what is it with those really long pauses? I get pausing for a while to make yourself intelligible, but these pauses are far too long and gives the impression of being unprepared or being a slow thinker.
Not to mention the extremely basic talking points that take for granted all sorts of things. “Small government” and “free markets” assume a sort of existent order and friendship among all inhabitants. Can he look around where he lives and say without a straight face that America has all of that right now?

Say you want to be an atheist like Dawkins who thinks science can explain everything and matter is all there is to reality. Well shit, you can’t even speak about using reason. For that matter, nearly everything you take for granted about people no longer apply. Free will doesn’t exist, because every cause is reducible to some external physical force. And after that, why even talk about morality? You’re never responsible for any of your actions, so why bother talking about whether your actions are morally good or bad?

The leftist academic is not motivated by petty things us plebs value like “logic” and “clear thinking”. The leftist is irrational and usually has other motivations for his beliefs. Usually, power is one of the few things a leftist understands. To try to get them to “question Progressivism” is a fool’s errand. Their motivation for believing that shit is entirely irrational. They may make all sorts of pretensions about how rational and enlightened they are but all of that is bullshit lies and deception.
Just try logically refuting some of their inviolable tenets like materialism and you’ll see actual seething hatred from said academics. These people are not the kind that you can win over by rational argumentation. Dialectic is pointless if the desire for truth is not mutual. All you have without this mutual desire is force and violence.
