@morgthorak @TrevorGoodchild @epictittus @judgedread Have read that article of yours. I like how you make the point that a lot of things people in the West take for granted ultimately came from Christianity and therefore also the classical Greek philosophical tradition.
Say you want to be an atheist like Dawkins who thinks science can explain everything and matter is all there is to reality. Well shit, you can’t even speak about using reason. For that matter, nearly everything you take for granted about people no longer apply. Free will doesn’t exist, because every cause is reducible to some external physical force. And after that, why even talk about morality? You’re never responsible for any of your actions, so why bother talking about whether your actions are morally good or bad?
