I wish some of those folks would meet up and go outside and do stuff in the real world.

If you're not doing anything illegal, and you shouldn't be because it is against the law, you have nothing to worry about.

Making friends in person can only help your chances of meeting women since they may know someone to hook you up with and worst case scenario you have a new friend. You can't lose really.
