Women get scared that birthing will be 18-24 hours of torture and just say, "drug me up NOW!" But when they get the epidural, they lose most feeling so their body has no feedback and it screws up the process. Note I said most, because they still hurt w/ the epidural, it's just a generalized pain. Meanwhile, natural childbirths are over much quicker.

C-sections lead to problems with the mother and the infant doesn't squeeze all the fluid out of the lungs. Vit K shots lead to jaundice and are only necessary to begin with because of male genital mutilation, which leads to lack of platelet clotting thus causes brain bleeds w/o the K. Doctors are ONLY needed in childbirth for excessive bleeding, and a properly trained midwife should be able to handle almost everything a hospital can.
