I've dated a couple crafty girls though, and the overriding pattern has been "I made these cute hats for everybody but nobody ever wears them, it makes me sad!"
Meanwhile I fight to steal every last handmade thing in the family. Grandma used to embroider every towel, doily, adn dust ruffle with these cute little characters she doodled, her kids used to have them growing up but now they seem lost to time. A small piece of ephemera, probably thrown out by gen Xers thinking "ew, these are so ooooollllddd, I'll use this cute little chinese one instead!"
