   "Why do guys have all these anime girl pics pasted everywhere? We didn't do that in my day!"

   I actually hear - and once said - this out of ignorance, too. It's a side effect of being raised in the feminist society where every space is intramural, there's no area where boys are able to make their own clubhouse and put hot women on the walls. When you realize that kids are increasingly so hyper segregated from each other they've accidentally re-created the boys' lounge of old, you'll find we're just doing the same thing our grandfathers did.

     The japanese art style is just a VERY effective way to trick the eye and make a 2-dimensional girl that's attractive to a very wide spectrum of guys. Pinup girl art today has been colonized by obese feminists in polka dot mumus, and the vast majority of photography in the scene is nothing but chunky, mannish, and troon-faced hags appealing to boomers.

     That pushes us further towards the jap art style, because our brain fills it in as palatable and pretty much more often than western artstyles do. The latter demands higher skill in reproducing an attractive, feminine, human-looking face.

     Jap style art is basically cheating.

     This has come up w/ the olds at work before, and it really only takes some glancing through the catalog to realize most of the "hot girls" doing pinup photography aren't really high-caliber. They're always off, old, haggard, gross, catpee smelling... just weird chicks. It's like looking through the catalog of escorts in a big city: You can see they once were a looker to some degree, but that was years ago when they could still smile.

     What really bothers me is that most of the IRL "pinup" photogs seem to be making pieces that aren't designed to look good to men. They're safe, cheesy, meant to glorify the model without "objectifying" her. Their angles are boring, they never present the aircraft from an interesting, stimulating angle. As if it's a vanity project for some "sex positive" feminist who wants to be sure boys don't like her work "in the wrong way".

     @PapaPole I was looking for that post about how they even echo further back w/ masts on ships. You'd carve a woman into it as a kind of aspiration for beauty, a goal and reward at the end of your adventure, and a blessing of luck & fortune as you sail into the dark.

     It's so freakin' brown to look at those and say "uh u think ur a little redhead in a cocktail dress lol gay"

     Also notable that the USAF got rid of noseart about 10 years back, banned it in totality, though even then the only stuff they allowed was cheesy truck stop "never forget" goyslop

     @WashedOutGundamPilot It’s similar in the hot rod world, too. A lot of “mid” or worse ladies past their prime trying to milk the last bit of male attention they can.
     
     Having said this 2 and 4 above are actually alright looking, and 4 has a halfway decent photo composition.

     @NitroDubs I used to follow some brit account that posted this, every girl they had was a 6 at absolute best. I picked girls from the first page of results that I find quite plain:

     Boring, unsexy clothing designed to make a 78 yo granny think it's revealing (while not actually hot or even form fitting)

     Plain, pan-faced, large cheeked girls with troonish facial structure, garish and gaudy makeup

     Graceless posing. Classic pinups used to be based off boudoir photos, the idea is that she's dressed for seduction and lazing on your wing as if it's a comfy 4-post bed

     @WashedOutGundamPilot I've meant to point this out, at least the outright voiding of pinups and such as feminists assume all men's spaces as their's and then abandon those spaces once men are removed. Men, with no groups to form in a meeting place of their choosing have fled to the ether, or as we now call it, the innerwebs. Yes, physically men are isolated and naturally men with anime in their homes are thought to be the NEETs with body pillows.
