I really liked the ecosystem they gave orphans - the graze was an upgrade to the geireil, all their development was centered on dropping parts counts, adding armor, simplifying. The development being totally based around immutable frames was a cool bit of realism, just like how ultimately there are only two or three options in computer architectures, OSes, engine layouts, nobody actually had the money to develop a frame as a clean-sheet design
They even had a realistic limit on customizing the grunts, to the point where they remarked that they painted with the cheapest colors they could find
