@graf They were American, but Tier-1 :callcenter: sounded senile and Tier-2 :indiancallcenter: had clearly never used a network before. I do not think they pay them well.

@allison When Fry's was around, I probably would have still preferred them to Micro Center, but it seems like the same kind of place. I thought when Fry's died that there was no longer a place like that, very pleased that Micro Center exists.

@p Yeah Micro Center is incredibly solid, honestly I wouldn't consider buying gear from anywhere else (IRL at least)

On the plus side, although it's about twice as far as Fry's was and maybe a quarter the size of the City of Industry one, Micro Center is fuckin' awesome. SBCs and breadboards and oscilloscopes and stuff. Place for hackers to get their gear. I just got the cable modem but I spent about an hour wandering around.

@p @allison Fry sold a lot of things, to bad they are gone since now i can't buy anything locally.

@allison I mean, Fry's had hunting knives also. Micro Center didn't sell knives. (Maybe if they'd leaned all the way into it and started selling whiskey and ammunition, they would have survived.)

It's intended for sci-fi/TTRPG/conspiracy theories, he was soliciting additional writers (small amount of pay, no set topic, I think the way he described the audience was whatever "a very smart auto mechanic" could wrap his head around), you might be interested, like I mean this in the best possible way, but I suspect you of having some unfinished sci-fi short stories. I don't even remember which instance I was on for that conversation, I think it was on bae.st.
I did not sleep last night.
