I've posted about this before on my now deleted account but I'll post about it again consider a good amount of everything I've posted is scrapped at this point. I've been working on this story that will take place roughly in the modern day, except the Soviet Union won the cold war and the United States dissolves instead of the USSR. I had plans on breaking it up into different stories actually, with the Soviets invading Alaska in one and a dissident political struggle against the remnant of the federal government in the east. I have to redo the maps and the entire story for the latter and I won't be done for a very long time, but I'll be sure to update you guys more through the process.

@wgiwf @Fash-E in my thing I'm planning on making the remnant of the federal government similar to bush era america but on steroids. their won't be so much a left right divide as more a pro gov anti gov divide but with the anti gov having an unfortunate dominant marxist leninist faction that nationalists have to break from the dominion of. the social degeneracy will likely be touched on a bit but it would be like a knife to the soul to put something like tranny shit in it even if it's critical

@WhiteJihadJaws @Fash-E Tranny shit is new in terms of degeneracy, that wasn't even on the radar until the mid 2010s at the earliest. From what I'm getting from the geopolitical landscape, is that this alternate reality America seems to have better demographics than ours but with a Soviet level security state, before it collapses.

@wgiwf @Fash-E liberal totalitarianism yes, but im hesitant to put any instances of wokism because im just fucking fatigued by it and out spite i dont want that shit near anything i make. but in an actual real scenario, probably, thats the thing with alt history, its absolutely impossible to know for sure. but what i will say is that a balkanization before the 21st century may have isolated the artificial push of social degeneracy to only certain areas. I'd love to say it just wouldn't exist in a balkanized America but you know damn well people that like pushing social poison will take advantage of chaos to do it, even if they have to do it in a small patch of land. That being said I don't know for sure

@Fash-E my original plan was just to write down lore on the modern happenings of destabilized and balkanized America but the ambiguity makes things difficult, so I'm going to need a lot more on the cold war and the immediate post WW2 atmosphere get a better background going

@Fash-E bad leadership and inability to deal with the social instability of the 70s in short and better leadership on the part of the USSR in short. this is a rough draft on a bit of differences, the U.S pretty much turns insane very early on and alienates itself from the rest of the world, the anti communist sentiment turns into an anti dissident sentiment. The USSR on the other hand just generally act less retarded. I forgot to add that they dont give away money to africa and as for afganistan, I'm debating on whether I should just make it where they just don't go in or have better leaders. It might be more interesting to have another story where the Soviets perform a model counter insurgency effort against the mujahideen. I also forgot to write down the idea swimming in my head of either a civil war or troubles like event within America that hampers its projection of power abroad. As you can see I still have some kinks to iron out, plot holes to fill, and more detail to add.
also yes, they do get bogged down in South America so much that they still are as the federal republic of America after the fall. They essentially become a rouge state with similar tactics to NK (or at least what their accused of) in how they involve themselves with crime worldwide including the drug trade
