:slap:People joke that Sony games are "generic third person open world collectathons", but you can't deny their games are visually stunning and are filled with content. I'm playing Ghost of Tsushima and it's so damn gorgeous & fun to play. Even Horizon Zero Dawn & the Uncharted series are a feast for the eyes, with HZD having copious content. Only reason I don't play the PS4's other console exclusives like Days Gone or the second Horizon is because the latter is pretentious and has Nikocado Avocado starring as Aloy, & the former is a game about zombies, a genre I'm not too fond of. :awoo_sus2:
The Switch on the other hand is so underpowered that it can't even run Skyrim without looking worse than its XBOX 360 version. It can't run something on the scale or visuals as the aforementioned games, or Bloodborne, or any other Sony exclusive, and don't get me started on comparing it to the Steam Deck... :awoo_sip2:
@Immahnoob Sony only went gay going into 2019, with its vow to “appeal to globalist interests” or whatever. Until then it was looking good. It doesn’t change how the Switch is too underpowered, and there’s little reason to face it docked for the big screen.
I’ll tell you this, if I am coping, it’s to cope FOR the Switch. I want to see the Switch actually pull off something massive and good looking like, Red Dead or something. Ffs it can’t run Doom Eternal without it looking 240p!
@RehnSturm256 >"No, you see, I'm not coping, but I am gaslighting you, get it?" Yeah, I get it, you made a poor choice with your console, it's fine man, I don't even like the Switch, but I dislike little bitches that can't come out and say "You know, I have no principles whatsoever and I bought a 450 euro console just to play like 4 games".
@Immahnoob every “argument” with you has been just throwing the “le cope” accusation that retards gobble up. No you autist this was a thread on how underpowered the Switch is to older consoles with a game I’m currently playing as the basis. Try to stay focused. Tsushima is objectively pretty good so far and visually better, and runs better, than even the newest Switch games. That isn’t good. I’m eagerly awaiting your next post that is a segway and has nothing to do with the subject matter. Another “yOuRe cOpiNg :soy: ” post lined up, I’m sure.
@RehnSturm256 You're doing that because of your shitty decisions. Nobody asks themselves these questions without trying to justify themselves, especially when the first thing you say is that you find Ghost of Tsushima gorgeous. Fucking hell.
@Immahnoob oh, you don't like killing Mongols with swords or actually exploring a massive island that doesn't drop frames or glitches trees? :zt_shrug: The Switch will never handle something like Bloodborne or Red Dead Redemption II either.
@Immahnoob the Switch can’t even handle action games. Bayonetta 3 can’t maintain 30 fps, and chugs harder DURING MENUS. :kekw: They found workarounds for the first Bayo port but now they’re getting lazier. The system is practically two generations behind on power, has less features as a console than the Wii U, and the games aren’t incredible enough to forgive at this point. The disparity is too noticeable now.
If you want platformers & strategy games, then the Switch is fine, but if you want open world, fps, proper action & fighting games, then anything else supersedes it.
Leftist rot starts at the core and slowly creeps out. How notice you notice it depends how deep down you are. In the West, normies are only now starting to notice the rot, because they have an only surface view of institutions.
Soyny has been rotted out for a long time. Abandoning their Japanese roots to Americanize is probably around when I would notice it. But I bet the rot began well before then.
@weanoob but any system & PC can run anime games :zt_shrug: they're practically the least strenuous type of game out there. Yet Nintendo can't even make a Pokemon game look and run well, and something like Fire Emblem Three Houses cut so many corners, like using STILL IMAGES stretched & bent for support cutscenes, and it generally was not a visually good looking game. I liked it for its characters & political storytelling, but its gameplay & graphics I would say felt & looked worse than the 3DS Fire Emblem games! :gura_what:
Expecting a handheld released six years ago to compete with consoles and PCs in terms of graphics is just retarded. Graphics were never a selling point for the switch; portability was.
@RehnSturm256@alyx@galena@weanoob you don't understand how hard Nintendo simps will give their own company a free pass when shitting on the others for the same exact thing. It's as homosexual as American politics.
PC gaming with no restrictions on what you can run or bust.
@alyx@galena@weanoob you missed the point of the last part of my previous post: this has been the status quo for Nintendo, but now it’s not even putting quality work into its biggest exclusives and it’s censoring and pandering just like the other companies. What is its identity now? It’s just “oh that’s the system that censors its Jap games and has Reddit-speaking translators making games that is TWO generations behind instead of one”.
@RehnSturm256@galena@weanoob I love that you're shitting on the Switch for being weak, when literally no one argued that it's some high performance gaming powerhouse, and this has been the status-quo at Nintendo for 3 generations now.
@galena@weanoob and exclusives like Pokémon and Fire Emblem are the ones worst hit by their weak hardware/lazy devs. Big titles there. Eight year old genes on the PS4 & Xbox run better than Switch 2022 games. And since Nintendo is now blatantly getting pozzed with the same sickness as the other companies, then we’re getting to the point where Nintendo really isn’t doing anything unique anymore. :awoo_sad:
@galena@weanoob no, MH Rise runs jittery, and you can tell THAT’S what matters for people because everyone hopped onto PC which at least holds its frames. :awoo_no: The preference of portability and home console for me changed after the coof years, because I wasn’t traveling for work as much. And I had no one to play couch co op with the Switch anyway, so there goes more of its portability benefits. What’s the point of a big screen if I can’t consoom something that looks good?
@RehnSturm256@weanoob Main appeal of it is exclusives, imo. Unless you're emulating them, in which case that's a moot point. But yeah, portability isn't a very good selling point in general for a console, if you're an adult, since there are less situations it'll be useful.
@RehnSturm256@galena@weanoob I'd buy one but I'm pissing money on other hobbies and trying to save up so I can quit this wagecage job that's killing me inside daily
@PhenomX6@galena@weanoob which makes the Switch even more pointless :satania_evil: The only downside to the Deck, and benefit to the Switch, is that the Deck is expensive and limited in stock.
@neo@alyx@galena@RehnSturm256@weanoob okay then you go write a switch game. Just remember you can't because Nintendo makes it a bitch to even get a sdk.
But you can happily write a game for a popular western last gen console without having to play squid games.
Nintendo has never, EVER put out a high power console. The only reason cracks are beginning to show is because SoyDevs are nowhere near as capable as the guys working on games were even 20 years ago.
Nintendo having underpowered consoles is a good thing for the rest of us; it forces most game devs to actually optimize their games somewhat which is the only thing keeping most new games playable at all.
