The crazy part about Pekora getting nominated by The Game Awards is that, depending on how the jury decides to interpret the DEI pyramid, she might actually have a chance of winning. The sad part is that she probably deserves the award, but she's likely gonna receive it because she's an Asian woman, and not because the jury took the time to look at her work.
Contrary to popular opinion, I'm not dead. Sorry to disappoint.
Where was I? I decided to do an experiment. For the past year, I have used a different account, on another instance, under a different name. There I had a policy of not following anyone unless they followed me first, and following back anyone that followed me, no matter what. I wanted to see what's the worst that can happen, how toxic Fedi can become. I wanted to see Fedi unfiltered. I guess y'all didn't disappoint.
Some of you, I've stumbled upon again. Some I got the pleasure or displeasure of following again (because you followed me first). Some of you I barely got to talk to, and some not at all.
The experience started decent enough, the first half of the year was ok, but later on, the experience became unpleasant enough that I started opening Fedi rarer and used it less. In a way, that is a positive in itself, but there are better ways to quit social media. Turns out, if you just follow everybody on Fedi, your timeline has the potential of becoming useless trash very fast.
If you're curious about my alt identity, I'm sure you can find it. There are enough clues out there and I'm not planning on deleting that account or erasing any of my posts. But I will not name the account myself, and don't expect a confirmation from me if you confront me with it. Personally, I'm amazed no one made the connection already.
What will I do going forward? I don't really plan on coming back here, nor on continuing with my alt identity either. I might be here for a day or two, but I'm moving on. Where? Who knows. I'm not planning on telling anyone anyway.
I've met interesting people on Fedi, and I don't expect to forget them anytime soon. But, I don't see much usefulness in Fedi anymore. It was an exciting platform because I met people with views different (mostly more extreme) than what I've seen before. But this has grown stale. And since I prefer anonymity and fading away in a crowd, let's say that too many people for my tastes, on either account/identity, have come to know me.
So I'm gonna start from scratch somewhere else. I haven't even decided where yet, so don't ask.
I laughed with some of you, and I fought with others. I bear no ill will to anyone. I've seen plenty of you burdened with too much hate, so I hope you guys find enough happiness in your lives, so that you forget about hating. I hope all of you get to be happy.
Thank you Igel, @Awoo and BigCums for introducing me to this world. I shall continue to awoo, drool over Asian waifus, and make big cums for as long as I live.
Goodbye for now. Have a good 2024!
Your friendly neighborhood, Half-Life loving Hinata waifu, signing out.
Remember when Trump won in 2016, even though every god damned poll said he wouldn't?
Remember the conclusion that came out on why every poll got it wrong? People figured it was because many people were simply too scared to answer honestly that they would vote Trump.
A simple anonymous poll, conducted by complete strangers with no inherent power (political or otherwise) and people were too scared to answer honestly.
How long before people will be too scared to vote honestly? Remember, unlike a polling company, the ones counting your vote do have political power. And the "shadow government" has proven that it is not afraid to wield that power to suit their preferences.
There's a saying here: he who today steals an egg, tomorrow steals an ox.
Today the FBI censored people and information critical to at least 1 election.
America has had problems with their elections for some time.
An informed vote is critical for a democracy, and for much too long a lot of people have voted out of complete and utter ignorance.
At least you can argue that this political ignorance is not just an issue for USA, it exists to some proportion everywhere.
But what the FBI and the news media has done these years, is the straw that broke the camel's back. It's no longer an issue of an ignorant vote, it's an issue of a blatantly and purposefully misinformed vote, orchestrated by people who would directly politically profit from the outcome of this directed vote.
You can't ignore this. You can't call the voting process intact and trustworthy after these revelations. What USA has experienced is exactly what was being done all the time in the soviet block. It's what even Putin did with his opponents. Block, censor, arrest those who talk against you, and use the propaganda machine to praise your leadership, even when you drive the country straight into disrepair. That's how you act as an authoritarian.
@dave Nope. Not when you have the FBI playing political favorites and directing social media to censor stuff. That's not a democracy anymore. Learn from ex-communist soviet countries. We used to have "elections" during Ceauศescu's days. Nobody in their right mind would have said we were a democracy, or would have thought they could vote against Ceauศescu without the secret services coming after them.
@coolboymew@Elfie@sjw I try to power it off at night just to preserve battery. I don't charge overnight, and no matter how I leave it, it still uses up more battery by staying on all night than a power-off/power-on cycle.
@Elfie@sjw@coolboymew It's only gonna be a placebo effect, or a psychological effect, due to the fact of knowing there won't be any disturbances during sleep. No notifications, no mails, to phone calls, nothing. If your daily life has a lot of those, and you're stressed because of it, knowing night time is guaranteed to give you peace and quiet can provide extra comfort and help you sleep.
