@NonPlayableClown@Rasterman@alex yeah another glaring omission from sunshine. A bunch of them were mission dependant too, absolute hell. Should have had a proper checklist with unlockable hints about them
The worst is when they tease coins that exist in the mission but are impossible to get (without glitches). Just horrible. Also I'm sure everyone gets PTSD about the pachinko stage. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3vISWLTyvc
@NonPlayableClown@Rasterman@alex I hated the Pachinko shit, took me like a fucking hour because of weird jank. The thing literally has places where it just nudge you in a direction and it's fucking weird and it will kill you
@NonPlayableClown@Rasterman@alex@coolboymew I think this level needed a radar in the top right so you can figure out where you're going as you learn the physics and how to get to all the locations. Having to remember the exact locations while getting the hang of the physics and working with a limited camera makes this stage extremely frustrating.
@Torgo@Rasterman@alex@NonPlayableClown yeah, the game is pretty rushed IMO. It's full of small weird janky stuff like this that's heavily missing QoL stuff like that
@Rasterman@alex@NonPlayableClown@coolboymew if you miss the red coin areas you die, there is no way to prevent it. it's psychotic and the physics in that whole area are broken. you can hold left and go right
@Rasterman@NonPlayableClown@alex@coolboymew like someone was trying to win a cash prize by coming up with a troll romhack and all they did is port the pachinko level in 64 with the broken physics
@Torgo@coolboymew@NonPlayableClown@Rasterman@alex Oh, for sure, not that surpassing Mario 64 is that grand of an achievement - already on the N64, there were plenty of 3D platformers I liked more.
@ChristiJunior@NonPlayableClown@Rasterman@alex@coolboymew There's a lot of PSX gems I need to get into, mainly Ape Escape and Spyro for starters. I appreciate 64 for setting the standard but time has really been unkind to it. I think a remake of the DS version with full 360-degree movement and improved camera would be a bare minimum versus plain emulation.
