@alex Why don’t you fix all the bugs in your fucking shit first? Why don’t you worry about actual features instead of playing games in fedi? this is fucking retarded and the only reason people like is because they’re kissing your ass for some unbeknownst reason (likely because you make copebox).
@alex@TheMadPirate Like... If a lot of people are requesting some specific feature, any of them can go implement it themselves. Or pay Gleasonator a reasonable fee to direct his attention to it. In the meantime, he can do whatever he pleases with his software. You don't have to use it.
@Zerglingman@alex I don't personally use it, and you are right, he is free to implement whatever he likes. It just seemed to me that such feature was rather atypical, so I was wondering whether it was a highly requested one or not.
@Zerglingman@alex what’s the fucking point? Be an adult and download an emulator? Like i said in a separate post, it’s not like there’s multiplayer or anything, so it’s literally no different outside of not seeing “niggerfaggot” and anime tits above and below it.
@anonymous@supersid333@marine@alex If you've ever played Sengoku Rance, it's that but without the hentai. Basically it's a territory-control game + battle minigame that itself is pretty interesting. So far I've only done that battle game. You put up to 6 units vs opponent's up to 6 units, and beat each other up until either one team's dead, or everyone runs out of actions, or turn limit is up, in all cases whoever's battle rating is better is the winner (but losing all your dudes immediately sets battle rating to 0). ... I don't actually know how the original handles a draw, which is definitely possible.
Oh yeah I forgot there's another battle minigame that's mostly similar for dungeons and certain scripted events. I probably won't have those events in my version, I'll probably just have commander level contribute slightly to unit strength instead. Although a king's duel sounds fun too...
Anyway point is it has a LOT of stuff hidden in various corners, so it's pretty interesting. I'm definitely going to include the item seller, but he'll actually travel around instead of being in one fixed location; maybe I'll allow him to move up to two spaces per turn so that he's less likely to get stuck in one player's territory. Or easier, just have it that each turn he spends in a given player's territories makes him less likely to move into them. Well... Maybe he'd still need a bit of pathfinding logic so he doesn't get trapped moving around the centre of a large territory. But that might be fine too.
If you ever get around to making it proper and have the time, you should have multiple “fedi factions” to choose from, or even a character creator. Would be pretty rad.
@anonymous@supersid333@marine@alex I will definitely have some form of character creation. In original, you are playing as Rance, who is also a fieldable unit, and if he gets eliminated, he is guaranteed to die*, which causes a bad end. I definitely want that in my version, so I want you to have a reasonable amount of control over your leader character; not just the class, but also special abilities and stats (and probably a unique, bound item). I'm not exactly sure how to handle that yet, but I'll figure it out.
(*Normally, when a unit is eliminated, there's a chance for it to be killed or captured, both somewhere around 5%-10% by default, both modifiable - though kill chance is usually only modified to 0% or 100%.)
@Zerglingman@marine@anonymous@alex@DrScarGazer This discussion is making me think of the handful of Discord bot RPGs I've interacted with. I think my favorite one was an FGO themed one where you trained characters from various franchises and have them beat each other up. Had a weird artstyle for the character sprites to make them kind of matchup.
@Pawlicker@supersid333@marine@anonymous@alex Ask that one dude... I dunno his name, but he's notorious for reviewing raunchy stuff, I think he did MGQ. May also be the same guy that did one about some HoMM that was pretty popular?
