     @Kyonko802 I'd normally pick the female character in a JRPG like that, but if the male MC route involves actual trannyphobia I'll probably go with that once I eventually play Persona 3 :shrug:

     @Hoss @ChristiJunior @Kyonko802 You can use it as a measure of how self-centered you are when you play games. There are 3 diff. archetypes in gaming, the latter of which is the “sees character as separate from self”. The other 2 see their avatar as them to some extent. The “wanna look at hot girl ass” players are unintelligible to the others, because the ohters can never ‘get’ that frame of mind.

     It’s an interesting convo to have with friends, all the “Player as Self” or whatever the term is tend to be the kind of guys that are a PITA to argue with because they’re selfish, hypocritical

     @roboneko @ChristiJunior @Hoss @Kyonko802 Yeah, that’s how it works. The character that you’re puppeting is just a tool, a part of the medium required to interact with it. Other people see it as a part of their self, a way to present their body/mind in the game’s world.

     Go track down the study, it’s interesting. The POV thing is literally the most unbridgeable divide, it’s crazy. No matter what I’ve never seen anyone come to terms with the other camp, across every iteration of the argument.

     Both camps will look down on the others in disgust, their way of thought too alien to mentally emulate in one another.

     @Kyonko802 They hate it until it conforms to their worldviews. Some take the alternative approach to infiltration and attach themselves to the IP, but with agenda-driven motives.

     It’s like the Guilty Gear “fans” that attach themselves to it because of Testament and Bridget (being vandalized by his own creator).

     Or the “true Xenoblade fans” that attack anyone that calls Yuzuhira a “she.”

SMT, personal, digital devil saga, I enjoy all of them for different reasons, but the hate brigade persona seems to have is just weird to me. Hell im playing SMT4 right now. Side note, fuck naraku as a starting tutorial area.
