@pawlicker @admin @ArdainianRight @rasterman How many Poast users even have alts on other sites? It seems like the vast majority don't even consider checking out other instances or hosting their own. I think the problem is that Poast users think other instances "aren't based enough" for them.
Even the other "free speech" instances (including the ones that are actually more free than Poast) have libertarians, trannies, people who mostly don't care about politics/the culture war, etc which they despise, so it seems like they won't even touch them. But then again, those other instances hate Poast because admittedly the Fedi was a lot more laid-back before Poast arrived.
Honestly, this is why I think twtxt is potentially better than the Fedi. It just being a text file hosted on any web server means that it's much easier to host. You can host it on a static-website or a git repository as opposed to setting up a Mastodon, Pleroma, GNU Social, etc server.
