  @RupertvonRipp @Platinum Until I came on poast, I’d literally never heard of them once, ever. And a lot of guys listen to podcasts at work. Sure they keep quiet, but there are enough guys on the wavelength that should at least mention it.
  I think they’re just like any other content creator from that ~2014 era, they had an audience, and now they’re just watching that body dwindle year after year. I gave it a shot last year, and as an entertainment product goes it sounded akin to any other group of burned out guys still trudging on to make another show because they already quit their real jobs.
  I even did a couple eps thinking I must have been missing the magic, but they just don’t have the rapport I’d want, need to add more humor or a real charmer into the fray to jazz things up.

  I think they're [strip-mining] their fanbase. Establishing a floor of die-hard never going anywhere whales that will reliably pay to keep the lights on.
  I think they're a dying brand and they're squeezing the most dedicated fans for all they're worth until the juice isn't worth it anymore

  Internet fame comes and goes in cycles, you get a wave of fans, get fat and happy on lots of fan money, and then that wave keeps heading into shore before cresting on the sand. You can’t ride it forever.
  So they quit their real job and start slacking off, spending full time in their own private echo chamber, losing touch with normal people who don’t rub their balls all the time, getting more and more cloistered and weird as time goes on.

The quality of your work will suffer if you quit/get outed and try to make what was your fun hobby your full-time paid role.

People remember the high water mark, their heyday when they were bright eyed and well paid, without recognizing that today they’re merely going through the motions, putting in the bare minimum required to keep the patreon juice flowing.
  Red Letter Media? Check them out today….it’s just tired old guys humorlessly bitching. A far cry from their famous content a decade prior.
  Metokur, too. I didn’t get the allure because his new era content was a 6/10. He’s a charming enough guy, but he didn’t really add much to the freak show, he’s just point and laugh pretty sparse jokes tossed in. Compared to his earlier kangz or tranny video, it’s night and day.

They just open their twitter and summarise the same “events” as every other show, add the lightest, most repetitive commentary you’d ever seen, and move on to the next also-ran content. You see one show, you see them all.
  I’m not even demanding a script, just do a run-down with some bullet points, some novel talking points on the subjects, and related tangents in your pre-show. Instead they just scroll a twitter homepage

  @WashedOutGundamPilot @RupertvonRipp @Platinum Glen Cook is one of my favorite dark, low fantasy writers. He cranked out 'The Black Company' series while holding down a day job on a General Motors assembly line in St. Louis. At one point he was pumping out 3 quality books a year.
  
  When he blew up enough to make writing his 'full time job' both the quality and quantity of his work notably suffered.

  80% of the time it’s just like being a trucker, you just sit and hang out. It’s the brief phases that getcha.
  For the big steel, there’s a lot of know-how about subsystems you have to understand. If you’re smart you’ll know that aircraft back and forth, be able to draw its electrical, hydraulic, and power systems and mentally map out issues in flight to work around them.   The give and take is so astoundingly bad in new media, it blows me away how I can’t even think of a single creator who’s figured it out. You build in pauses between sentences, you have to give up the floor for the next guy to speak and be able to subtly hand off the conversational baton to each other without breaking the show’s rhythm.
  Instead, you always see this gay thing where they think that pouting, bitching and passively sniping at each other is funny. They’ll get derailed for 2 minutes because someone starts talking too soon and then everyone has to listen to the unfuckin’funny “no it’s fine, just talk all over me, guy, that’s beautiful, just keep yelling“ line. Oh cool, contention and discomfort in my happy listening show, what a treat!
  It’s all entry-level broadcasting technique, it really shouldn’t be that hard to see when you have to edit your own show anyways. “oh, guys something I noticed from last show, we need to work on our spacing, let’s end every sentence with a 2 second pause and make sure we give enough of a space for guy number 3 in case 1 and 2 keep handing it off back and forth”
  Boom, improved quality right there.

  Imperium Press and Bizarchives publish books, Academic Agent wrote one of those books and has another to be published i think in May. I guess my point is that there are rw "content creators" who produce something actually significant.
  The time for "strategizing" and arguing over theory is basically over.
  
  For high-powered rightoids the mission is to make lots of money and accrue influence with powerful people in your locale, for lower-powered rightoids the mission is to produce cultural products for mass consumption and create IRL mutual support networks with other people.
  TRS fails in some ways because their reach is going to be extremely limited due to the nature of the creators. Contrast with Red Scare and Caribbean Rhythms.
  They were a prototype for what was to come, at least.

  @Twoinchdestroya @Platinum @synapsid @RupertvonRipp I’ve had this before with guys IRL when I complain that we really don’t have many good, funny, affable creators out there. There are some people who you can plug into any show as a guest star and instantly improve the content because they think on their feet and actually know how to keep up humor over the course of a show.
  Those guys are rare enough as-is…..asking them to throw away their probably successful life for 50% of wendy’s wages and permanent unemployability is too much. Still, I wish we had them. It would be cool if there was at least one guy who you’d look forward to seeing guest star on any of these. Maybe it’s just me, I don’t mesh great with anyone, but I miss looking forward to that kinda thing

  Planes are at a near state of equilibrium during flight, it’s pretty cool.

Usually you can just cover it up and inop mark it, but the companies don’t even want that hassle, easier to just change it with an MFD that covers everything you want in a little 11” screen

  @WashedOutGundamPilot @RupertvonRipp @Platinum I've noticed this, too. They honestly sound like they hate making the shows at this point and that makes me not want to listen.
  
  I catch FTN sometimes, especially when I need background noise for a few hours. It tends to be better than TDS. Some of the 'deep dive' stuff is interesting, the show seems less rambly, and it's kind of nice that they tend to keep a positive tone about things, i.e. 'this is why Jews are losing' vs. 'we're all fucked'.
  
  That being said, 'podcast jockey' is not a qualification for political party leadership. I'm pretty sure NJP is not purely a money grab, and that these guys actually want to improve things for White people. I'm not convinced they're full-on grifters, at least not yet. However this whole "We're it. Get with us or get out of the way." attitude is just super cringey.
  
  Maybe this movement does need a leader. A Fuhrer to lead us out of the beer hall and out onto the street. But is it really a couple nerds who behave like washed-up Twitch streamers and blame their audience for dwindling? I need more convincing.

  @WashedOutGundamPilot @RupertvonRipp @Platinum Those people are important pieces to the puzzle, imo. Even fags like Tim Pool and Jordan Peterson are important. The transition from normie to the JQ needs to be a smooth one for a lot of people. They need to ease into that deep end. I got my first taste of real, deep media skepticism from hearing my boss play Alex Jones in the office way back in like 2008, and despite him spending half the show selling dehumidifiers and overpriced gold coins and fake dick enlargement powder, it really did start to grease the machinery just a little. You can't blame guys for wanting to be able to buy food.
  
  Still, as I think we're both agreeing, just because lots of people have a place in the project, it doesn't necessarily make them eligible to be Fuhrer.

  There’s worse background noise but their quality has slipped tremendously, anyone recommending them as a 9/10 hilarious bunch is living in the past. If you know that going in and you gel with the RLM guys then there’s worse media. There’s better, too, but there’s worse.

His real passion is meeting and organizing people in real life, and public speaking. TDS is just an avenue to pay the bills now, so you're right a lot of the early magic isn't there anymore. If you didnt like TDS, I'd still recommend Prussian Socialism and Strike and Mike.
