To follow up on this: I oppose the woke nonsense, especially when it's sexual propaganda aimed at children.

@DaddyO @ryan I agree with you there. My point is people tend to start with real problems and then start making bad assumptions about people who very well may not be part of the problem.
Case in point: I posted my original message, and the first reply I get is suggesting I approve of teachers reading dick-sucking books to kids, which I don't and I never suggested.
I think it's a flaw in human nature and how we try to recognize patterns and sometimes make mistakes doing so.

There is something of an equivalency with respect to the attention economy; what I mean is we should acknowledge these things and maybe participate in local organizations if you have kids and something comes up locally, but the pattern of endless content about it on the Internet is psychologically unhealthy

I think social media is intrinsically disordered and dehumanizing. This one Mastodon account is my only exposure to it. I don't Twit/X or Facebag or Instagram or any of that nonsense.
That being said, paying some attention to national trends to see what kind of tidal wave is coming over the horizon isn't a bad idea. Most of the nonsense isn't here in my rural town, but I'd be a fool to think it's not on its way.
