The only thing they don’t acknowledge enough is that everyone assumes it’s a first-time pregnancy, so they lose sight of reality when they look at outliers from the past and talk about how it’s totally possible to have a baby at 44 because it happened in 1920…..it’s much easier to have babies later on if you start the factory up early and get pregnant before 20.

     Our entire culture consists of people drinking in an endless tide of distractions, moment to moment, to the point they leave their TV on when they sleep.

     They never take a few hours to stop, go somewhere in nature with nothing but their soul for company and find their bearings in life.

     You need that in life. You need to head down to the ship’s charting room in your mind, pull out the sextant, and develop a plan. Too many people just exist like a dog, they wake up, they cater to their needs, and just follow the tide wherever it takes them, never quite directing their efforts in life. Most people are passive, unthinking creatures. Sure, they’ll tell you they “want’ a family, but it’s only in the abstract, if you were to press them on it they’ll come up with a dozen rationales as to why that process can’t leave the realm of the hypothetical to become real.

Ways that are absolute and total morale fucks, things that keep screwing with my mindset, things that are challenging because I have Christianity’s expectations on my shoulders.

     Walking the tightrope between basic human flaws and reactions, and being “Christ-like,” was far more simple when I was younger and didn’t have the pressures that I do now, including the prospect of losing someone important to me via death. Things were simpler without having to lean on someone who isn’t tangible, who I sometimes have doubt is even there or listening.

     @Owl @RupertvonRipp @PvtProperty @Solbera @Shadowman311 You don’t need to be perfect all at once, that bar sets people on the path to apostasy because they think they should be able to run a spiritual marathon after 2 days of training.

     If you set realistic, appropriate goals for what kind of man you could be and get to work achieving them then you’re on the right track. Life is all about carving ourselves into better men, it can’t happen all at once or there’s be little value in ‘perfection’ from the start. Something I try to do is look outside myself and find ways to help people around me, I try to be the random stranger that makes their day easier or lightens their load, and the buy-in is often very cheap.

     Looking outward is usually much better than looking inward, anyway, I’d much rather have a believer in “applied Christianity” than a scriptorian who spends all his time soaking in doctrine without ever applying it to anyone but himself. That doesn’t mean evangelizing all the time, either. Service, being Christlike and looking for people who are quietly, invisibly suffering and shaving off just a bit of that burden can be the start of an arc you’ll never see ‘pay off’

     Have faith like a child and give up that sort of worrying like one. You’re expected to fall short, it’s in the manual.

     For me that wasn’t good enough. Maybe I had the wrong expectations going in, that it would be some amazing transformative experience where things would just sort of gradually change and I’d be able to unseat this doubt, and I would inherently feel God holding me in the hollow of His hand, and nothing would be insurmountable as long as I had faith in Him. Everybody made it seem that way. Everybody.

     Instead I felt more flawed, I felt more like a screw-up. As I told Dan last night: it was another way for me to make myself even more miserable by holding myself under a microscope. I don’t know how you guys do it.

     @PvtProperty @Owl @Solbera @Shadowman311 They don’t think though, don’t take it too hard when girls are kinda flighty and passive. They take cues from society to portray what they want to others, and they’re told to want a carefree, easygoing single life as the apparent goal.

     Women don’t know what they want until it starts to get within reach, once you start dating then you’ll see her inevitably start to gravitate towards keeping you around if you try and produce distance.

It’s there, and the damage is done, all we can advise is risk mitigation in other areas. I don’t buy the immediate death stuff but I very much believe that we WILL see a lot of creeping, nasty health issues crop up just like everything else.

     I’ve tried to call a shot of sorts in autoimmune issues, 1st term fertility, and soft tissue cancers. Those are unique enough, though all on the rise prior, that I feel like they’ll stand out in the memory banks.

     So in the next 50 years, I expect to see more difficulty maintaining a pregnancy past 3 months in, more 18 year olds with rheumatoid arthritis and crazy autoimmune sicknesses, with funky shit like glioblastomas rocketing off the charts.

     Those are all gleaned from talking with quietly concerned autists and professionals IRL, based on the gut-level concerns they’ve had, so I feel better about calling that than some graph off the internet. It’s a very haphazard, shitty program they did…..just like the LAST panic vax they made. In that one they found that it gave a bunch of teens brain damage or something, all to prevent the swine flu. That initial case took 8 years to start worming its way into med industry consciousness, I bet it’ll be 10 years before we see anything of note.
