It's good for a guy to experience the attraction a woman can have for a guy with no money and no prospects, because that flushes from your mind the idea that women are attracted to money and material things. They simply aren't.
Attraction is much more animal than all that

Then maybe I want to make it just for me, like Walter White doing the Heisenberg bit ultimately for himself. Just like the /fit/ bros say you should lift only for you, because there's no guarantee that anyone else will even care, and such motivation is fleeting. I've got things I want to achieve before a woman. But that brings us back to square one, that makes it feel like I'm doing it all for a woman? Maybe that's just a semantic difference. Wanting to reach square 2 before reaching square 5 doesn't mean you're necessarily doing it all for square 5.

I mean that just sounds like you have personal goals, and that's actually great. My suggestion would be to disconnect them from the box containing "woman" in your mind. It's completely ok for a man to have goals separated from anything having to do with a woman, and may actually help you incidentally to get one
