     @coolboymew Pounded meat, fried. You smash it flat so you have more surface area to fry, ergo more breading. (Poor regions seem to do stuff like this, makes the meat go farther than traditional prep)

     its a key step in chicken cordon bleu or in chicken sandwiches after splitting a breast

     @Paultron @coolboymew Sure, I’ve just only ever seen it in shitholes. Probably the best food you can get in them, but at the same time you have the sense they’re making the best of having downright unpalatable meat

     @MeBigbrain @Paultron @coolboymew One time I took this missionary group to a nice place that served this kind of thing, I laughed so hard when they said “yeah it wasn’t that good, kinda gristly and hard”

     Little did they know I was giving them their last taste of heaven before hopping on a chartered bus and driving 120 miles into the bush to go live on bug-filled rice and tripe for a few weeks

     @MeBigbrain @Paultron @coolboymew I always loved breaking the rich kids. There’s a whole tourism-charity industry that’s rich suburbanites pretending to help by erecting a single house in a village, building a “school”, all these non-projects that only exist to be background sets for their selfies.

     They talk a big game about how much they wanna live like a native, until they find out just how far down that rabbit hole goes. Full on breakdowns stripping in the street, screaming their head off kinda stuff. Pretty funny.

     But they paid well enough. I used to charge $100 a head for “onboarding” which is basically catching them at the local airport and figuring out their travel arrangements, then clearing a place for them. Like, 3 hours of work for a whole lot of jungle money
