     @Remi @pleasesaybye Once again, leftists wage war on the ideal. Yes we live in a flawed and fallen world, but there still remains transcendence and beauty. Celebrating the idealized forms gives us something to aspire towards, even if we can never fully attain it.

     That people before us also saw moral decline in their day is not evidence that the belief is false. That's like saying that the generation before us also believe that the sky was blue, therefore it isn't.

     @Punished_Potatus @pleasesaybye It's sillier than that, they are implying that people can't be made moral. Then you go to places like Japan, where people frequently just leave keys in their ignition. It's a little surreal to see. There's an entire book on stuff like this, 'Confucius Lives Next Door'. But apparently that isn't real either, since science can't identify it or something.

     Besides, they don’t like it when scientists actually do study morality. Borzoi had posted something that I can’t find in my bookmarks now, about a guy in the 1930s who studied every major human civilization in recorded history and mapped the decline of their sexual morality to their stagnation. I bet he wrote this before the “lol no decline” survey data set begins.

     But the same people who now pretend they have a scientific certainty that moral decline has not happened, would reject his research showing what happens when it morality objectively declines.

     @PunishedD @pleasesaybye I think the guy you're referencing about sexual morality was c.j. unwin, started out as a committed Freudian and decided to prove Freud right about sexual repression being the root of all social ills. Then he actually studied the historic data and was intellectually honest enough to change his position. @Godcast and @SuperLutheran have referenced him repeatedly
