     Lift it up, so whatever's free can freely rotate, then pinch one end, then slowly run your pinched fingers down the cable, essentially massaging it. The free end will spin around. Once you've hit the end, repeat in the other direction.

     It can take many, many iterations. Especially on 100 meter cat5 cables.

     @coolboymew yup, you can work that twist out by doing a proper coil (i.e. not using your shoulder to "wrap" the cable). Hopefully this video is a decent enough explainer:

     As you coil the cable up, basically you need to work that twist to the end of the cable where the connector is. Once it hits the connector the twist falls out of the cable.

     And you have to maintain tension the whole time. You can't checkpoint it.

     @r000t @coolboymew yeah this method definitely works. generally just storing cables properly avoids it, but that only works on things that aren't plugged in 24/7.
     
     I usually just repeat 4-5 times and it should be good.
