     @Fiddle Yeah no shit, what’s up with everyone? You get tired of childish things, you need to have kids in order to enjoy them anew.

     If you’re 30 years old you SHOULD be bored of this stuff, you can’t be seventeen forever. You should be excitedly booting up your old stuff to have your 7 yo play the same classics you did as a kid, and being puzzled when he’s less impressed than you’d hoped

     @WashedOutGundamPilot @Fiddle Im there, too (no kids, don't expect I ever will). I'm sure aging out of this hobby is the primary issue, but that games overwhelmingly just fucking suck is another factor.
     
     I play World of WarCraft Classic after quitting in 2011, but Trans-Blizzard is such a garbage developer now, I doubt I'd miss it if the entire suite of intellectual properties were destroyed.

     @haberdasher @Fiddle They’re largely bad, but they’re all the same, too. I just don’t get it, is everyone drunk and high? Every now and then someone brings their games on the road and I get offended after an hour - Games make you run pretend errands for NPCs, or give you a 50,000 hour grind that you can skip with eight bucks for a special little digi-trinket. As an adult, my time is worth more than that, the enjoyment I get out of games just doesn’t match up to the investment they require. It’s not fun enough, the mechanics are all the same, the puzzles boring, the tasks repetitive and bland.

     I think a whole lot of gaming fellas are just going through the motions, staying high by dipping into the trough hoping to feel something just like they did as a kid, but that’s not how it works. They’re just doing the same thing boomers did, eternally hunting the high they felt in the summer of 77

     I agree (because I'm one of them).
     Millions of White men ages 18-40 have been completely disenfranchised in their own homelands, no real hope or expectation of having the same quality of life that their (grand)fathers did. So we/they are completely checked out and just need a distraction to get us/them through each day without suffering some kinda (potentially violent) breakdown.

     @haberdasher @Fiddle That’s what sucks. For all our bitching about boomers we’re following the same pathway most of them did. Fantasizing about a “better” past, throwing away our inheritance for momentary, selfish pleasure (by railing foreign women & cursing our sons), constantly bitching about how everything is awful but dutifully turning on the goyslop box the second we walk in the door…..
