     @Codeki @coolboymew @graf Thing is, most LED bulbs are ripoff in the US will only last a couple of years at most. Reason being rather than adding more LEDs and having them run at lower power which will let them last forever, they only use a few and crank it up so they burn out.

     @coolboymew @graf I did some quick research on it, the reason why they put actual salt in there is because it doesn’t affect LEDs, and it provides a more natural light as the light from the LEDs passes through the salt.

     If you look though, there’s plenty of knockoffs that are simply a coating on the glass.

     Salt melts. People are finding that out the hard way when they get Himalayan salt lamps and put them on top of their computers
