     @teknomunk @sapphire @teknomunk @Humpleupagus @Xenophon @Marielle_Redclaw I think getting help is going to be very group-dependent, and I think that foreign assistance is actually the big thing that determines whether rebels succeed. Most people who would rebel don't really know how to survive in the wilderness or hide out properly, and getting a little training on this - as well as some gear to help them operate - is probably essential for most groups.
     
     If such groups become widespread, I don't see why Russia/China *wouldn't* pitch in a little help. They have geopolitical motivations for doing so.

     The original point still stands: you're right that these groups will persist for some time, and they will fare better than Kaczynski because they have the help of somewhat powerful people who want them to keep operating.
