     they've been talking about how the Abrams is amazing for decades, but it'll die like any other tank when you hit it with a missile designed to kill tanks. what the Abrams is great at is fighting other tanks and the russkis don't seem interested in giving the ukes the chance

     @deprecated_ii @Terry Seeing the ukes’ decisions with their batch of totally free but super expensive german made tanks wouldn’t make me too eager to give them more of mine, when it still has a strong brand and continued production. IDK if we’re still exporting, but the ukes are basically that nigger that always smashes into crowds at car shows when he’s doing donuts to show off.

     Nobody looks at the blood on his quarter panel and says “we need to get that guy one of our cars! He’s a great influencer to show people our product!”

America backs its dollar with force to a large degree - it does us damage for people to see our equipment shamed before the world. I’m sure that’s why we’ve kept our F-35s from any possibility of real conflict - its myth is worth more than the performance. The second one gets shot down normies will stop thinking of it as an invisible future plane.

     The second you see a field of M1 Abrams alight you realize the king is just as mortal as the next man, and you fear him less. To us that’s not surprising, but we’re realists. The people ruling us are retards, roasties, and hysterics. They DO care about that kind of thing a lot more than us. They’d rather have the image of invincibility more than the reality of moderate competence

     I suspect that the people handing them weapons have a keen awareness that if they gave them anything sensitive, anything the enemy armies weren't pretty much fully aware of, then they give up their key advantage in the event china goes off. They'd probably be too foolish to hold the positions even after globohomo diversity purges or w/e.
     
     I *suspect* that a bulk of what they're given is just the equivalent of milsup. "Go play with last years toys, Ivan. Maybe it'll do you some good, but we bought this for a 3rd decade in afghanistan in 2007, and now that's not happening."

     @PurpCat @Terry @SpaceElf @deprecated_ii No tank on earth can tank the kind of damage required to just press through a rain of artillery in broad daylight like that. No matter who supplies them, it’s going to be an embarrassment if they use it the same way.

     Unlike our aircraft, we don’t really have a replacement for the M1 Abrams, either. There’s no cope we could trot out saying “well that’s old and crappy”, to the avg normie they’re all M1’s, no matter the package. Having our premier ground asset face-stomped on tv before the world isn’t a fun proposition for the guys who believe american military invincibility is the only thing keeping most of the 3rd world on the petrodollar

     @SpaceElf @WashedOutGundamPilot @Terry Most of the stuff that's coming straight from the US isn't export quality, it's the real deal. A lack of export spec tanks is probably the main reason we haven't sent Abrams, since there are still military secrets to protect there.
     
     For the most part we don't *have* any cutting edge equipment in service, except for our fancy boondoggle jets and the occasional smart bomb or guided artillery shell. Most of our equipment is late cold war vintage and the occasional modernization program just does minor stuff like upgrade the electronic equipment or swap out the gun for a bigger gun.

     @deprecated_ii @SpaceElf @Terry The abrams we have sitting in the desert would take a few years to prep for action again, and they’d still legally ahve to remove and dispose of the DU armor. So….a 3 year job if it’s super accelerated. For a totally diff.l tank system incompatible with literally everything the ukes are using now, with a fussy turbine engine that guzzles jet fuel. And takes more crewmen.

     I get why we haven’t done it, unless you’re just looking to make some kind of deal with some horse trading, it’s just a retarded proposition if your goal is having the most combat-effective force you can as quickly as possible

     @deprecated_ii @Terry @WashedOutGundamPilot I know you're *probably* right, but I will always have a feeling in my gut that there is *something* sitting around, in most advanced nations, existing in a sort of hazy "Break Glass When It Gets Serious" superposition. I'm not talking about warehouses full of tanks and AI Grenades, but like, glorified disposable equiptment & vehicle manufacturing. Shit that the modern soldier would be devastated if he were made to use in peace-time, but in a war is the difference between surrender & enduring just a little longer.
     
     Sort of like how the germans were sending tanks straight off the production line, in primer red, to the front lines when it got bad.
