@Godcast A bit absolutist doncha think? Non-pozzed schools exist. I'm prepared to pull the rip cord the second I get a whiff of poz. I saw memes circulating earlier saying "all schools even private schools are going to be like X soon enough", as if the potential future problems warrant action right now. Be aware, be present, ask and don't ever assume things are fine or bad events are an "isolated incident", but don't go in with metaphorical gunz a blazing if unnecessary. -

@BowsacNoodle @Godcast I plan on gauging it by how astute my kids are. Lots of variables to consider in fostering a complete, capable adult. I do like them learning about how to infiltrate globohomo structures and deal with hostiles, you certainly don’t get THAT in private school.
Maybe community schooling, with enough people involved. LIke socializing a puppy, I just fear only exposing them to a dozen people for years on end, that’s why they always had a stereotype of being awkward and weird - they never got out of their comfort zone to burnish the sharp edges off by working with strangers.
But I wouldn’t feel safe sending a dumb kid off to indoc - he’ll have to be smart enough to see through things at the ground level

@Godcast @WashedOutGundamPilot You don't infiltrate per se, but you can become a daywalker. It's a thing for those of us blursed with the right combination of personality types and mind. @Godcast @BowsacNoodle It’s shorthand for being able to withstand the day-in, day-out nonsense with a straight face, telling teachers what they want to hear but never believing any of it for a second.
A kid needs to have inner strength and confidence to never doubt himself and start wondering “what if everyone else is right, and we’re wrong?”
It’s an invaluable skill for the workplace, being able to blend in and play along by their ruleset - despite what everyone in these spaces wants to believe, there just ain’t enough space for us all to be unemployed chicken farmers on the fringe of civilization. Some of us have to be stakeholders.

Not really sure about all that, but tons of people homeschool now. For many, they tried it when covid lockdowns were in effect and they decided to keep going.
Fwiw, I don’t know a single homeschooled person who is an incel. Frankly, that is the only qualification I care about.

@teknomunk @natsock @Godcast @WashedOutGundamPilot Someone said it earlier but there is definitely some self-selection into homeschooling from people who are a bit 'off' from the mainstream, along with plenty of normal people. As society goes further off the rails, what constitutes 'off' is less weird than it might of been decades back. -

"That person is scary / creepy / probably dangerous" - we pay attention and they are nearly always right. When they talk about people at school I ask them leading questions so that they just express themselves aloud. We've never once told my kids to not trust their instincts, which is the lie that diversity is founded upon. They grew up in a 50% White 50% non- area so they arrived at their own conclusions based upon life experience rather than repeating things they are told. As the stakes increase we funnel them in directions that keeps them safer while still exposing them to reality whenever possible

BTW the whif of pozz will come in middle school and by then your kids will have healthy immune systems of you expose them to this stuff in an age-appropriate manner. Leverage that natural disgust mechanism early because it's unavoidable and leaving them naifs won't help them -

100%. You can teach basic cultural relativism in the sense of how we do things and why it's good for us and why it's other things aren't good for us. Framing things in terms centered around who we are and what we do and why as opposed to glorification of the other is a huge help for developing an understanding of identity. Our culture pretends White people don't have an identity, and I don't want them to have a challenge with that for obvious reasons. -

@teknomunk @natsock @BowsacNoodle @Godcast I can’t tell you about my experiences, but I came to my completley through IRl contact. Used to have one fam w/ a multi-family harm setup, had like 30 kids living in one property, never knew WTF was going on but the kids were all socialized after the adults’ weird ass patterns.
It really got worse in college, had 2 homeschooled guys in my dorm and both needed a lot of help to become normal. One guy wanted to make dating business cards to hand to girls he thought were pretty. The other thought that telling a woman he had a dream he married her would be a great way to get her to date him.
Haven’t dealt with homeschoolers past the millennial generation though, the scene really started to turn itself around in the early 2010’s, should hopefully be a lot better with the huge influx of healthy people now

As in, a guy who’d never had a single job had them made with his contact info, all his accounts, and the word “Single” as his job title.
And he thought that he could hand those to women, go home, and have his phone ring off the hook from girls hungry to go out with him. I tried helping a few times, talking to girls and teeing him up, he fumbled it SO hard every time we got in fights over it. Pretty sure 95% of his experience w/ females came exclusively from his mother, no sisters, no community

The first time he busted the cards out I thought it was actually a funny gag, but it was just him thinking “boy, wouldn’t it be rad if a pretty girl walked up to me and gave me her number? I bet girls would want that, too!“
He’s got a tardwife now, so he’s probably quite content

To be fair to the homeschoolers, if you grew up watching a lot of 90s TV and movies you were led to believe this same thing. Social interactions could be pretty baffling if you were going on the wrong programming. -
