   There was a bar near my old place on the east side that sold Growlers of mead for $40. $80 of fruit and yeast and you could make a 4-figure profit. Might be my next money making venture.

     @PraxisOfEvil I do stuff like this for fun sometimes, but when I run the numbers I’m always stuck realizing I would have been better off just working elsewhere. If you can integrate your sales process into stuff you’re doing already, or streamline it so you aren’t wasting too much time bottling it, then you’re doing alright.

     It’s like talking to a blue city fag who brags about making $55/hr, but he has to spend 5 hours a day communting in and out of his garbage city to work. Evened out, it’s not as awesome as he thinks it is

     @PraxisOfEvil @WashedOutGundamPilot methanol isn't much of a concern in home brewing stuff like wine, mead and cider

     @WashedOutGundamPilot Yeah bottling and storing the stuff would be a nightmare and if you tried to distribute it competing brewers or busybodies would drop a dime on you. If nothing else it would save on my own alcohol costs but if you're not careful you'll go blind drinking it.
     
     And yeah I've been offered high 5 figure contract work on the west coast, but the only thing I'd be able to afford is some shoebox next to a homeless encampment. No thanks.

     even if you are doing a sloppy job of distilling gin or whiskey or whatever it's not like you're going to take a few shots and go blind, it's just going to give you a worse hangover. if you are going blind from bootleg booze you were on your way to an early death from something alcoholism related anyway.
