I once looked into it. If they didn't invent something, Nintendo certainly deployed it before Soyny, but then they took it and implemented it themselves.
That being said, I can't find news about a PS5 tablet so I guess it's a Jim shitpost.

It's a weird step backwards for Soyny. Meanwhile, the comments under the reveal are all negative, some demanding a PS Vita successor.

@Rasterman @ArdainianRight @FargleLarkTheSecond @Jim The Wii U was actually a decent idea, in the sense that it was a necessary, if awkward step towards a true console/portable hybrid. Basically, the Wii U crawled so that the Switch could run.
....which makes a Sony Streaming Wii U released in 2023 make even less sense.

And unlike with the original Vita, Sony can no longer rely on Japanese niche developers bailing them out, hell, they probably won't even get a new Gravity Rush game.
