Even if they opposed "cruel and unusual" punishments, the Founding Fathers never imagined that would ever be interpreted as getting rid of all corporal punishment or getting rid of quick and standard methods of capital punishment.

     They ruled that the use of the death penalty for anything other than murder was "cruel and unusual" meanwhile the founders punished sodomy with death and castration
     Founders should have cut down on the flowery language and made concrete points to guide the 'interpreters'
