     @Shadowman311 I remember reading a review of this. You had to take an hour long shuttle to it because they were too cheap to build in main park and everything was uncomfortable and cheap feeling.

     @Shadowman311 If you haven’t seen the amazing, wonderful experience that soon-will-be-was for the “Galactic Starcruiser” it’s just amazing to see. A true time capsule of reddit-flavored, millennial consumerism that never really existed. In some respects they went all out, in others they did completely, utterly retarded things like $5000 cryogenic drinks or upholding living coplayers as a boon.

     It’s really just crazy to see. The rooms are basically prison cells made up to look like star wars - ish things. The windows are just LCDs with space wallpapers. But really, the most wild, out-there aspect is that you’re paying all that money to walk around cosplayers in-character and do fetch quests pretending you’re a part of the story. They put you in a bus and drive you around, and you go do puzzles to “fix” your “ship” (hotel room). It’s wild, completely baffling that they okayed that with the expectations that their target audience - I.e. the same people who make ‘relatable’ memes about feeling anxiety over calling a biz to find out if they’re open - would love walking around and interacting with actors

     Actually been thinking about this element. Kids don’t play like they used to, all their hobbies are consumptive, there’s no imagination. it’s very, very odd to think that disney has obliterated the idea of “go outside with toy guns and pretend you’re a stormtrooper w/ friends” and locked it behind a $5,000 paywall where it’s given a veneer of theatricality

     @WashedOutGundamPilot @Shadowman311 Someone who actually cared about the Star Wars could have told the retarded suits at Yidsney that the designs of a ship's interior living quarters are meant to be brutally utilitarian, and not for comfort. A real old-school fan could have designed a hotel that serves as an actual hotel, yet still have the right atmosphere.
     
     There are plenty of more breathable, comfy-looking rooms shown in the movies, but no, the suits and designers said "But it needs to feel Star Warsy for the Reddit crowd." :jahy_disgust:

     difference is, when its just an expo that costs 20 bucks per admission, you can get away will all kinds of cut corners.
     making it into a hotel, and charging thousands was braindead.
     it really shows just how desperate they are for money these days.

     Much smarter to do a series of rides that let you feel like you’re in star wars. Have X-wing cockpits, star destroyer hallways for laser tag, giant space battle flight sims to compete with everyone around, etc
