It’s the time of your life that you are coming into adulthood, learning about yourself, what you like to do and who you like to spend your time with, when you can really form meaningful friendships and relationships with the opposite sex for the first time and really see what your body is capable of athletically and push yourself beyond the limits you thought you had. The answer is obvious, at least around these parts: america is a racial hell, and HS is a glorified daycare where the government tries to propagandize while wrangling, or failing to wrangle, the racial chaos, neglecting most prosocial and communitarian aspects all the while.
TLDR: Americans smugly note that the focus on HS in Japanese media reflects the fact that japs love HS and hate the rest of their lives while ignoring the fact that americans hating their entire lives equally doesn’t really reflect the exceptionalism that they think it does. -

Kids today get the “buckle down and work” lecture, I got the “here take my coupe, skip school, and go finger your girlfriend, buddy, enjoy this life while ya got it”

True Crime stuff is one thing, but Breaking Bad is all about tension and thrill. Particularly with the villains (who are niggers and spics) of the show. There's ugliness just from the premise of the show, but the allure is how regular White people, even ones with serious problems, overcome extreme hardship.
It is one of the least pozzed shows that has come out in the last few decades. -

Everything in Breaking Bad is something I’ve seen enough of IRL. The people who love it are always those who have no experience with the ugliness of life that low on the ladder. Everyone who gushes with adoration about it to me IRL comes from that insufferable, coddled, bloodless lifestyle that affords them the detachment needed to watch it like it’s pure fantasy. When I see it it just reminds me of how soul-crushing existence is at the bottom.
I don’t like thinking about that stuff anymore. Had my fill.
