❄️:padoru: SantaSnekFriend :padoru:❄️>Watch video essay (yes, I know) about the new hotness in vidya: My_Home.wad >Intriguing map design >it's heavily narrative-focused, which is a bad sign, but the map displays technical skill that pushes both Doom Engine and the GZDoom source port. For that, I gave the map and the video a chance >Very nice! >Uh, why is this influenced by post-modern garbage (House of Leaves)? >Eh, whatever! >1 hour later >Surprise ending! >The map 'creator" and his "friend" were actually sodomites and the whole narrative is how the map maker got over "childhood trauma" by sodomizing. >This whole map is an unironic Gone Homo clone, but with horror elements and made for Doom
Fuck this gay Earth, and I want my hour back you fag enabler.
@SuperSnekFriend I ran into something similar with minecraft mods. It is very strange to me that the creator side of things is so overwhelmed with fatally compromised world views.
My conjecture is that, for their wicked ideas they get help, from other people, and from the spiritual world.
Meanwhile, /ourguys/ get hindered by other people and from the spiritual world.
A lot of that is based on my own experience trying to make games by developing code and art. There have been SO MANY forks in the road, on the left, immediate results tied to principal compromises, on the right, searching blindly in the dark but I get to keep my principals xD
After many years on the "path not taken", I am finally to the point where I can create things. I look back at my path and think "a mentor could have got me to this same place in a tenth of the time".
I'd argue too it's also; a lot of the people who are in this side of the internet simply aren't around many creative types, or realize the amount of influence you can have by being creative. It's always the same old copes about "oh we have jobs and blah blah" that you hear from boomercons. Then there's the "having fun is degenerate" mindset as well around here.
Furthermore a lot of the creative types are easily brainwashed/buck broken. Look how many are willing to do groveling apologies in order to "keep" everything, or willing to fade into obscurity and rot when they run into resistance we all laugh at. There's a serious lack of spine when it comes to creators.
Also; >My conjecture is that, for their wicked ideas they get help, from other people, and from the spiritual world.
There's a lot of failed left wing gamedevs, or developers of trash like Gone Home. You just don't hear about many of them for the reason that literally nobody cares about the games they make (see Sunset as an example or all the troon VNs on itch.io). They don't make anyone give a single shit about what they make.
What they do have is a shilling network and people willing to support them, or at least they know the magic words to say to get the shills to support them. Unless of course it backfires like the troon wanting to sue ValidLs on Twitter. https://nitter.poast.org/ValidLs/status/1658331659949817858#m
But that's the thing. There aren't right wingers on YouTube or around here shilling video games, aside from the AmericanKrogan types making 5 part videos about "why some AAA game is propaganda". But you can go onto left wing YouTube and find troons reviewing visual novels and seeing the flags everywhere.
@Victor_Emmanuel@SuperSnekFriend I can think of at least 4 people on that work full time jobs, and sink major time into creating stuff. Which is actually pretty encouraging :D
@PhenomX6 You mentioned not being around creatives, and I think that is a key factor in this being so hard for our community. A lot of us are reinventing wheels instead of learning from other creators.
There is also the low trust in the community. I've often offered to help anyone here learn what I know on several topics, to date, 1 person has taken me up on that offer xD
Though it isn't all isolationism, Vile is bringing together different people in our community for several projects.
@PhenomX6@hazlin@SuperSnekFriend People don’t like being lectured to, but they do like being entertained, so if you can entertain them with something that has your values, they’ll soak it up
One reason why idgaf, a lot of anime is good for kids. Sure don't show them bible black, but a lot of anime has the message that if you work hard and you're a good person you'll succeed, and people who aren't good people or people who take shortcuts often end up in a bad place.
Also the best take here is that the 3do is the "itch.io" of game consoles.
Yeah sure, that's a good metaphor. It implies that literally every game on it is trash, and you know exactly what comes to mind when people think of it; Plumbers Don't Wear Ties 😂
