     @GabeLakmann Well, it’s a tough language. you can get functional just by getting a third of the vocabulary. The cool thing about english is its depth. I don’t think there are many tongues out there with a deeper well of character to draw from. Makes translation tougher when you come from a language where you usually only have 1 word for everything. How do you shift gears and find out that most everything you can say in english can be said 2-3 entirely different ways?

     I agree, while it is more complex English is the most descriptive language I've found so far. Most other languages just have basic descriptions for things while English, like you said, has 3-4 different ways of saying something with each choice meaning something slightly different than the others usually.
     
     When I started looking into the German language one thing that shocked me is that they use super long words for stuff that English has a shorter, and often more descriptive, version of. Germans are super efficient about everything BUT their language it seems.

     @GabeLakmann What’s funny is that all the other languages tend to have this fluff that they tack on to words. They have a separate form for addressing somebody, with an additional word to tack on the end to supposedly change the entire character of the way you’re speaking…but it’s really just the equivalent of a diminuitive or a title.

     I’m sure there’re a couple out there, but english has been so fleshed out it’s hard to beat. Pretty much everything is a loan word from it, if it’s invented in the last 100 years.

     Bahn mi is pretty good but I like the "Vietnamese breakfast" (with extra fish sauce) and "Vietnamese New Year" meals with the pork belly and hard boiled eggs best.
     
     Vietnamese coffee is great too. I also like the Thai tea as well.

     It's easier to get some of them confused too. In English you say "fat man" or "fat woman" and everyone knows what you're talking about. In Spanish they say "gordo" or "gordita" and just tack stuff on at the end like you say. It's easier to learn I guess but seems much more crude.
