   I know guys kid about how they think periods are gross but you gotta get over it. Girls are always terrified that we’re lying about it when we say we don’t care, all it takes is a few boomer jokes about how gross it is when they bleed and they’ll be deathly ashamed of it for years.

   If you love her it’s really nothing all that out-there, if you’re affected on a visceral level you need to get more blood under your nails anyways. Go butcher some chickens, go carve up some deer. Periods are just an excuse to dote on her and spend a few days getting cozy indoors together. I almost look forward to it.

     @D-Droid Not sure we can totally call it, chick plumbing is very sensitive but yeah, likely has a lot to do with it. It’s real insidious, because at the slightest bit of pain the doctors rush to give young women birth control to ‘free’ them from their cycles, never mentioning the downsides.

     To my knowledge they’ve never told mine about any link between them. They treat her PCOS like it’s just a magic issue that showed up out of nowhere, but she’d been on BC at the first hint of puberty and only had problems a few years into taking it constantly

It’s always the same story, the GP/ped doc pushes it because it’s “best practices” in medicine, because we have to pretend young white girls w/ dads are at the same risk of being 14 and pregnant as inner city negresses. The mom thinks it’s magic w/ no downsides, wishes “I had that at your age! Only one period a year? Magic!”

     When dad finds out (if they don’t hide it from him) then he expresses consternation and mom shuts him down because “you’re a boy, what do you know about this stuff?”

     Then 8 years later the same doc shrugs and acts like the infertility diagnosis fell out of the clear blue sky. Maybe she even tells the girl “aw, you’re lucky! You don’t have to worry about kids!”

     Y’know, because women have EXCELLENT bedside manner.

     @D-Droid @WashedOutGundamPilot It's been a pet theory of mine that a lot of the craziness and sickness of women today is because they have a testosterone deficiency/ estrogen overload. Testosterone is very important for behavioural regulation. Too much estrogen causes behavioural instability. This is true in both men and women, but we mostly focus on the effect these things have on men.

     @WashedOutGundamPilot @CatLord @D-Droid That’s happening a lot, I’ve heard from hospitals that women on birth control for a decade are having fertility issues and miscarriages at higher rates, but “nobody” can figure out what’s the cause.

     @Twoinchdestroya @CatLord @D-Droid Yup, the religious trad families always say it’s either “she gets REALLY bad cramps and pains” or “oh yeah her acne was TERRIBLE it can cause scarring you know!!!”

     I don’t think it does anything for acne, never saw it actually improve. Diet, exercise, hydration are undoubtedly more effective solutions to a zit-riddled face
