   So it was originally shitting on the comic book industry and Star Wars now it's become shitting on Warhammer what's it going to be next month guys shitting on Mechwarrior or how about shitting on the Command and Conquer franchise no how about shitting on the Yakuza series or shitting on the Tony Hawk series because as far as I'm concerned it's going to keep happening to the point that no one is going to share their interests on the internet with fucking no one at all people are going to play their tabletop games or their once beloved franchises or watch old movies by themselves like a boomer playing solitaire because all his friends are dead at the rate this is going we're gonna become this meme.

     It’s one thing to lore dump on me when I’m dumb enough to make a joke about 40K, but you can’t get into intricate, complex detail about your custom space legion to the obviously disinterested new girl saying “huh” every 5 seconds as she tries to jump ship into our conversation on the other side of the bar

     once they breach the space marine dam and make women eligible to be space marines/adeptus astartes, it’s all ogre. (no, adepta sororitas/sisters of battle doesn’t count as a female space marine, they’re their own thing)

     @lichelordgodfrey @nierenstein @LordMordred I think it’s just starting. They have a huge IP and they’re about to start working it out. Normies are gonna be watching the series, the movies, the games, and it’s gonna be hypercringe in the span of a decade just like every other NPC franchise.

     All the same people that bought captain america shirts and baby yoda merch are about to start telling you all about how they’ve always been a fan of 40K.

     I feel bad for the long-timers, I just don’t think there are all that many of them to begin with. Growing up and going to hobby shops, I never saw much interest in 40K until ~2017, around the same time all the other big scifi franchises were being shat up w/ gayness.

Maybe what’s really bugging me about the warhammer shit is that I just can’t get away from it, and it seems like it’s been taken up by the redditor crowd without anyone really noticing. The same guy w/ an avengers tee is now excitedly talking about playing the warhammer game when it drops, but all the dissident guys still have their head up their ass pretending it’s super based and untouched.

     Maybe my foresight is really poisoning the well. I feel like if you slid our chronological slider forward to 2033, fans’ll all be saying “man, it used to be so cool before all the movies and games came out. It’s SOOO fuckin cringe now, I haven’t even opened my bin of miniatures since they came out with the 3rd movie. Hell, can’t even sell them since values are in the toilet now.“
