@frankiesaxx It was in reply to this which I read as @oliphant raising the issue with the admin and the admin telling them that talk on issues like racism should be confined to DMs.
If that’s not the case, I’ve clearly misread or misunderstood. The boilerplate terms, by themselves, do not automatically lead to such a reading; I agree.
@aral I'm confused. Is that person reading the boilerplate 'do not post racism or advocate racism' rule as a server not allowing people to post about experiencing racism?
Because there's nothing in that thread (at least that I can see) besides a weird reading of a generic rule banning racism that looks straight copied from .social
@screenbeard@xinit Only heard and looked up that term yesterday and boy is it a useful one to know. Little did I know that there was a succinct means to describe what the majority of reply guys on my posts through the years have been engaged in. Live and learn, eh? :)
@xinit@aral The fragile person who reported Aral (presuming it was someone on the thread and not a random user of mstdn.social) is full of sealion energy. Loves debating people that anti-racism is the real racism.
@ramsey Aw, darn, that makes it less fun (properly read the label of the field after your post, oh well…) And yes, indeed, but they have to check a box to report me to myself, if I remember the interface correctly.
@aral The reporters don’t see the notes you leave on reports. Also, this report goes to the moderators on the instance their on, too, so it’s not just reporting you to yourself.
